During the months of pregnancy
you will have been busy preparing for the arrival of your
child - preparing the child’s
room, checking you have all the baby equipment, reading helpful
books and magazines, and so on.
Amongst all these preparations, one of the activities parents
find most helpful and reassuring is attending ante-natal
classes. It is often the case that friendships formed through
these classes are continued for years afterwards.
In the same way, parents new to our Church Family tell me
that the baptism classes we run are among the most helpful
aspects of our preparation scheme. These classes cover two
consecutive Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.
We run them five times a year. The dates for the next set
of classes are available from the Parish Office on 01474
703819.

These
classes are helpful for a number of reasons:
* You will have the opportunity to meet with
other young
families who are also looking
forward to the baptism of their
child. This is part of the process of building up
the network
of friendships within the
Church
Family.
* You will have the chance to consider the
central aspects
of the Christian faith,
what we believe about God the Father,
Jesus and
the Holy Spirit.
* You will be able to look at the baptism
service in detail
and to ask any questions
about its meaning.
If at all practical, we encourage you to invite your godparents
along to these preparation sessions as well.
