Alpha to Omega

Portrait of Revd. Jim Fletcher

My name is Jim Fletcher and as the Rector of the Parish of Fawkham and Hartley I would like to welcome you to our parish and to our web site.

As you browse the site you will find many pages of helpful information about parish life in Fawkham & Hartley.

If you are new to our Parish, or would like information on our services, can I suggest that you click here for our Welcome! page.

If you are interested in the history of our 2 lovely churches pictured here with our Church Centre, then click on History on the side menu. Please explore our site and don't forget, we'd love you to come and enjoy one of our services, or parish events.

We are now into the season of ‘Ordinary time’ - The Sundays after Trinity.  Other seasons are preparing for and responding to Christmas and Easter, the highlights of the Church’s year.  ‘Ordinary time’ compared to the celebrations of the major festivals reminds us of the ‘ordinary’ times in our lives and those parts that can seem routine.  This is a season of steady growth where we are asked to look for God not just in those remarkable moments but also ones that are ordinary.  If we look close enough we can find God in them.  Our Church hangings and vestments in this season are green – the colour symbolising growth.

Make sure you look at the Parish Notes heading for future events and our ‘services’ section for when we meet to worship together – hope you can join us.

You will stillfind copies of the Annual Report, my reflections and the reports from the various parish groups by clicking here, you can flick through the pages, magnify each page, download them as a pdf for offlne reading, very simple and saves all the paper for the APCM.

God's blessing on you all

Jim Fletcher
